I would like to install an aftermarket heated seat with the OE switch and relays. As I know the factory setup use a thermistor in the lower pad to measure the heat. Is there any info out there which type of thermistor is used?

After a DISASTER of an AAZ upgrade (the motor blew after 1000km!), I want to look into an electric conversion.
TUV says it will be a nightmare (LOTS of paperwork!), but if someone has already done this, the door is already open.
I have a 1990 Syncro, and ideally, it would be a bolt-on to the transmission.

I enrolled to this forum because Germany is our vans home country, and parts and stuff are probably easier to find in die Heimat than elsewhere.

I have been contemplating some sort of wrap or rain fly for the pop top on my Bus. (T251 camper conversion Carthago) my pop top.JPG . The problem I have run into is that everyone I've contacted for dimensions on such products say only fits westfalia . Around 3 years ago we bought a T3 Postbus and we love it, warts and all. Thing is, lately I've been trying to get more and more into mechanics, repairing and maintenance, but sometimes the German language and mentality can still be a big barrier (no offense to any Germans reading -- I just come from a different culture :-)).

In the last weekend we visited the Bayerische Wald near the Czech border to do a bit of trekking in the autumn forest.
We were stopped by a covered police car just after Ludwigsthal and the car was thoroughly checked. They were checking manufacturing dates on interior parts beside the VIN and the engine nr. After 45mins they admitted that everything is OK with my car. They gave back our papers and left without saying goodbye.
Im curious what could be as suspicious that led to stop...

Hello everybody!

I am trying to find TÜV papers for Borbet A in VA 7,5x16 and HA 9x16 or Penta in VA 8x16 and HA 9x16.
The reason for this is that I am putting on Lorinser LO in VA 8x16 ET22 and HA 9x16 ET10 and I have to convince the Norwegian TÜV that similar dimensions have been used before 8-)

I would appreciate any help!

No more Fahrvergnügen with my beloved T1 Splitty for nearly two years now. Fact is, the drivers cabin doesn´t fit me properly anymore Now that all belly-reducing-attempts failed, I am looking for a technical solution. Anyone here who knows about smaller - like racing steering-wheels or driver-seats that might give me some more 10 to 15cm room for all of my body? (..and may get our germans MOT´s okay ...?)

Along with my shopping for a T3 Syncro camper I've been thinking about possibly just having one done by Reimo. It seems like you can still have them outfit a T3 with a brand new interior and hopefully a high roof. Does anyone know if this is still possible or even better has anyone here done that? I bought a Whitestar with 1.6TD that was lazy, was eating 1L oil to 100km. I started to read the german section and saw that a lot of guy went with TDi engines. I wanted to stay with TD but with a little more power and Nm but to be in the green with the temps of oit and water and still cruising abobe 100km/h so i bought a 1.7KY block and cylinderhead. Started to disassemble the block, wash it and check everything inside. The crank was outworn, the bearings from conrods where at 0.75...

Hi to everyone, this is my first post. I am from St. Neots, in Cambridgeshire, UK and have owned five T3/T25's. My current one 'Wilma' is a 1.6TD California with 229k kilometres and she runs fine. Does anyone know any good T3 garages in Berlin? Have a hire van there, they have a niggly problem with interior electrics which is probably straightforward but I've not been able to resolve over the phone. I am a native English speaker in Darmstadt, and just bought a Dutch '79 T2 with dormobile roof and original westfalia interior. My German is not terrible, and hope to be able to offer as much help as I will no doubt ask for!

Finally joined a German Forum. As ive been on the enligh club80-90 for the past few months. Met Titus in Leipzig there too.

Im based in Munich for the last 5 years now, Ive also spent 1-2 years in Stuttgart.

Ive only had my T3 Bulli since November, and had it in a friends garage in Ulm, for over a 1 month and a half, that hurt alot. Like taking a new toy away from a child.
