T3 with golf engine

Hi everybody, i know golf 2 and T3 had same engine. Is it possible to put a syncro golf 2 engine in a 2wd T3?

Yes, it is possible. They own the same 827st block.

Well, you truely need the whole engine, the wiring with the control module, ignition coil and the fuelpump, in case there is a outside pump used.
The oil pan you need to use from the bus, also the enginemounts and maybe the exhaust system. You have to build your own pipe in a freestyle way

1.8 GU with pierburg carburator?
or
1.8 GX with Bosch Ke-Jetronic?

- shortblock and head and the whole injection/ingnition parts/fuel
- you have to install carburator oder ke-jetronic in flat angle (like in the golf) but the engine install in bus has a banking angle. so you need to do some fitting concernig this problem.
- and you also will need a lot of parts of your diesel instal: oil pan, engine mounts, water hoses and fittings, crankcase breather (and maybe valve cover). so don't throw away jx parts

Simple answer: No.

You need all T3 Syncro parts, from front diff with subframe, Syncro gearbox to tank and front suspension.

Golf: front wheel drive based, with transverse front engine
T3: rear wheel drive based, with longitudinally rear engine.

I thinked i could use the gearbox maybe. But i discovered that 1.6 td golf syncro doesn’t exist. In anyway thank you

The whole driveline is different in e.g. country golf witch is the closest to what you might tink about. but as the engine is in the wrong end and the engine is in different position and even the rear diferentia is different so not one singel part is bolton.
