Why? Synchro-gearboxes are like Gold-dust... just sell it and by a fitting 2wd Gearbox.
If u really want to use the 4wd gearbox, u’d have to block the drive-line to the front, it would be unnessesaryly difficult.

No, it's not that simple. you also need the mountings for the gearbox.

I knew that i need to change engine’s supports, my question was a petrol gearbox fits on a diesel engine? Only the gear’s rapports is different?

Ok, i understand, as far as i know u would have to change the bellhousing, Driveshaft, some supports for engine and gearbox. How shure are u that the gearbox itself is not worn out? For example the output-shafts double-bearing often is worn out and causes damages in the following.

Alexander for example is a gearbox specialists here in the forum. So he has the knowledge to decide weather to put the difflock in your 2wd gearbox, or transform the petrol 4wd gearbox to diesel-2wd... may be he join this thread and can help... at Bernd Jäger‘s t3-bus-shop i think i saw a diff-lock for 2wd... he also offers custo, gearbox builds. But alway remember nothing with t3-gearboxes is cheap, but its even worse to stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere.... where are u located?

I live in north north italy, you right i don’t have knowledge to know if the gearbox i want to buy is worn out or not so maybe it can Be a bad idea all the work for a damaged gearbox. I only know from seller that it’s been tested from mechanic but it’s only his words. I’ve yet seen diff lock for 2wd but it’s not as a syncro gearbox with lock or not? I can’t decide when lock and it’s not a 100% lock, right?

Parts that are often damaged is it possible to know if i need to change them, and can i change them when gearbox is not on the engine or i need to disassemble it?

I don’t have experience on car’s gearboxes only in 2 stroke moto gerboxes and i think they are a bit different.

Thank you for the answer

There are 2wd gearboxes with a 40%-diff-lock, they need a special oil.
And there are some guys who custom build a 2wd gearbox with switchable 100% lock.

Just to change the bellhousing from petrol to diesel u can do as well as the input shaft.....
if u can change the gear-box-supports/brackets u might be able to run this gearbox with a 2wd. I’m not shur if u would have to do changes on the body because the 4wd gearbox has the output to the front. But I’m afraid that is useless much work.

For the rest of the gearbox f.e. Bring in the diff-lock, or remove the front-output-shaft, u need a lot of Knowledge and a bunch full of expensive special tools. Forget about it.

So the best would be to contact f.e. Alexander oder Bernd Jäger and ask them to custom build a gearbox for u. For shure u find a way to send it to Germany. Then u can be shure that all parts are checked or replaced. And they can make the Gears as u need it for ur project.

For shure there are some other gearbox-guys who can do it, i hope i don’t blame someone...
