Better Brake System

Hello all!
I am upgrading my JX motor to an AAZ, and I want to upgrade the brakes too.
I am thinking of THIS setup.
Does anyone have this installed yet? Does anyone have the TUV paper?

For the GOWESTY-brake you will probably not find a TÜV certificate

If you want to improve your brakes in a bus with German licence plate better look for a System sold in Germany e.g. this http://busschmiede.de/shop/T3-2WD-BUSSC ... orderachse" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

nope it's not. In the german shop, the hub kit is already included. At GoWesty it's 499USD +400 USD for the hub kit. Still cheaper but probably not useable in Germany, because no German TÜV certificate included.

I don't require the hub. I'm driving a Syncro. I already have the correct hub.

Where are you driving your bus? If not in germany, why do you need an TÜV paper?

Is the TÜV certifikate really included?
There is nothing written about it, on the Busschmiede-Site....
If it is included, the Question could be useful if mr Maier would sell u a Set without the Hub.

Look here: http://busschmiede.de/shop/T3-Syncro-BU ... orderachse" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The certificate is peronalized with the VIN you have to enter on the order sheet.

So i would ask for a price without the hubs. Cannot imagine that this shouldnt be possible...
Good luck.

The offer i posted is specific for the Syncro, so it is without hubs.

Achim.... U r perfect as always,
.... but in this case, indeeed, its the twice price, but i'm Not shure, if you Order it from gowestys, how much is the Shopping and customs, and if u want it legally u have to go to TÜV to make a New certificate.

But as i looked as Bit closer to the brake System, it's Not the same, brake-Pads, caliper and Discs are different...
The Busschmiede-System Looks like the ate caliper that i know from Opel/GM whith Tat Special spring bewegen caliper and caliper-holder.... So its Not the same.
And in Case of Breakdown i think its better to have Part from any Car (maybe Opel Omega 2,5l Year 85) that u can Order Nearly everywhere or maybe in scrapyard....than Witting hin the middle of nowhere and try to Order a Part from gowesty cause only there u can get the spare Parts ....

Hey Fränkie,

where are you from (location here in Germany) and which size of rims do you want to drive? Maybe there are some other options out in the market.

Cheers Arne

According to the certificate caliper and caliper mount are genuine VW/Audi-parts. Disk is Brembo made with KBA 61112 licensing.
And the price: Somebody has to pay for the certification procedure. And this are some thousand €.

How about the South Africa Brake:

or

EPYTEC Brake Adapterkit für Porsche Caliper and Audi Brake Disks:

Afaik the "South Africa Break" with a TÜV-certificate is only available for the 2WD at http://vw-winkler.de/Suedafrika-Bremse- ... -Gutachten" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Fa. Ungewünscht obviously does not provide a TÜV-certificate for the Syncro. And the "Fa. Ungewünscht Picture" in the Syncro offer shows a 2WD-Break.

Hey, I know it's been a while, but I did get the GoWesty brakes passed TUV! They didn't even look at them, aside from saying I needed different brake hoses!

It is different to pass the TÜV with different parts from original, then get these parts legalised in the papers!
Or did I misunderstood you?!?

Is it also registered in the vehicle documents?
Then it would be illegal!

So, just got TUV done AGAIN!
For the SECOND time, they didn't mention the brakes! Inspector looked at the disk (oversized), looked at the hoses (then checked my brief), and then moved on to inspect something else.
Again, never made mention of the GoWesty Big Brake Set, with the GoWesty logo staring right at him!

The A.T.U. purchased rims are in the papers, and the numbers were verified, the brake hoses are in the papers, and the numbers were verified, but the brakes themselves were ignored.

The inspector can not know, which size or shape the brakes of a vanagon have or how they look like unless he owns one or is a real insider.
So if everything looks solid and is braking well it is ok to him.
I had scraped of or covered the GW logo, just to be save.
